DINAMO ISTANBUL: “ONE SMILE IS ENOUGH TO CHANGE OUR WORLD” WINS YET AGAIN, AT THE FELIS AWARDS

“One smile is enough to change our world”, produced by Dinamo Istanbul (Casta Diva Group’s office in Turkey), has won two major prizes at the 11th Felis Awards, specifically a Felis and a Success Award in the Digital – Social Corporate Responsibility category.
The Felis Awards is organized by ‘MediaCat’, an advertising industry publisher which aims to honour those companies which make best use of the basic characteristics of advertising and marketing communication, namely creativity, media planning and public relations, to reach their objectives.
The multi-awarded video “One smile is enough to change our world” was produced on behalf of EÇADEM, a non-governmental Turkish organization which provides support to disabled children. The objective of the film was to change the way people view and interact with disabled children and young people, and to promote the work of the Support Centre for Disabled Children (EÇADEM).
The film was shot with hidden cameras and without professional actors, only with the collaboration of families with disabled children.
The story revolves around a letter which the mother of Tufan, the disabled protagonist of the spot, arranges to have handed around to unsuspecting bystanders in a public park. “Please don’t look at my son with pity; all he needs is your smile to be happy.” The natural and spontaneous reactions to the letter are exceptionally touching, but also result in wonderful and generous smiles at Tufan.
The video went viral almost immediately, leading to almost 32 million views on Facebook and 1.2 million shares. Even more importantly, the number of EÇADEM volunteers rose by 400% and visits to their website increased by 2400%.
