THE CASTA DIVA GROUP HAS CHOSEN 3BEE FOR THE PROTECTION OF BIODIVERSITY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

In recent years, biodiversity, i.e. the variety of animal and plant species on our planet, has been declining at an alarming rate, due in particular to certain human activities, pollution and the consequences of climate change. According to ISPRA, a significant percentage of pollinating insects – both domestic and wild – are at risk of extinction, a situation made worse by global warming. This is why it is crucial to take concrete action to safeguard, regenerate and monitor the biodiversity and the world of pollinators.
For this reason, we chose to solidify our commitment to environmental protection by teaming up with our scientific partner 3Bee, the leading naturetech company in the protection of biodiversity through technology. Together, we have created a measurable project by setting up our Biodiversity Oasis, currently consisting of 1 biomonitoring hive and 50 nectariferous trees.
Thanks to the biomonitoring hive in our Oasis, equipped with 3Bee Hive-Tech technology, we monitor environmental parameters to analyse the surrounding biodiversity and the health of pollinators. This intelligent beehive also helps to collect statistical data on the health conditions of more than 300,000 bees. In addition, each employee was given the gift of monitoring and protecting 250,000 bees, which will help to pollinate around 250 million flowers. The employees also received a small quantity of honey directly from the Casta Diva Oasis, produced with respect for the bees and nature’s cycles, which is the symbol of this important project. Thus, Casta Diva is monitoring and protecting a total of 550,000 bees, which contribute to the pollination of some 550 million flowers.
In addition, a nectariferous forest was planted in the province of Grosseto, consisting of 50 trees, feeding more than 4,000 pollinators each year by producing 21 kg of nectar. All of the Casta Diva Group’s trees are cared for by 3Bee’s growers, experts in species protection and upkeep.
