Egg Events Roma produces a unique event on Isola Madre

December 15, 2016

Isola Madre, an island jewel nestling in the splendid setting of Lake Maggiore, has shone once again with the magnificence of its glorious past. Egg Events Rome designed and produced a memorable evening here, rich in spectacular surprises in a truly princely style. SmartCom invited fifty specially selected C-level international executives from major Asian telecom companies to the island and gave them the opportunity to experience this part of the history of the Borromeo princes.
As the guests were ferried from Stresa by private launches, Isola Madre suddenly lit up, appearing in all its glittering splendour in the centre of the lake. On landing, they were greeted by musicians, drummers and flag-wavers, who accompanied them through luxuriant gardens, illuminated by stunning lighting effects.
The allegories of courtly chivalry, as represented on the heraldic crest of the Borromeo family, were the main theme of the evening, an event centred on beauty and art.
In an exclusive visit to the historical residence, the guests were given fascinating information about the life of the Borromeo princes from the beginning of the 14th century, which concluded in the two most prestigious rooms of the palace: cocktails were served in the sumptuous Venetian Salon, magnificently frescoed in trompe l’oeil representing a flower-decked gazebo, then a gala dinner was held in the Salon of Festivities, which recreated the splendours of the princely banquets of old, with its operatic arias, historical paintings and glittering Murano chandeliers.
The menu, in the hands of the Michelin-starred Sadler restaurant, provided a taste of the regional delicacies of Piedmont: Alba truffles, game and Nebbiolo wine from the Langhe.
At the end of the evening, as the launches crossed the lake back to Stresa, the guests were delighted yet again by a spectacular firework display, which dazzled the night sky and gave them a final unforgettable moment of excitement.
“It was a truly stimulating challenge, which broadened our horizons as we overcame complex logistical difficulties,” says Vanessa Fulvio, Client Director of Egg Events Rome. “There was a lot of pressure: the real challenge was to get everything just right and to make sure that it would meet with the tastes not just of our client but also with the tastes of all of the guests. We can now safely say we achieved this. We gave the numerous Asiatic CEOs who were there the opportunity to see and admire some of the treasures of Italian history, unique and unexpected as they are off the beaten track of classic cities of art itineraries. We showed them the wonders of Italian splendour in an unusual and little-celebrated context. We were delighted to see the satisfaction and the appreciation of all the guests, thanks to the realisation of a magical and truly princely event.”
