CASTA DIVA GROUP IS THE BEST EVENTS AGENCY IN EUROPE

October 14, 2016

On Friday 14th October the city of St Petersburg hosted the 11th European Best Event Awards ceremony, the continent’s most prestigious prize-giving in the events sector. EuBEA’s objective is the consideration of how an event is developed as a means of innovative communication, using mixed media to the full in the broadest sense of corporate communication strategy.

Casta Diva Group overwhelmed the competition (112 agencies from 22 countries), by winning “Best Event Agency”, as well as four Golds and one Silver, giving the pocket-sized multinational in communication the accolade of the best agency in Europe.

Casta Diva Group took part in EuBEA with two projects.

“Flights”, produced by Casta Diva Buenos Aires (the Argentine branch of the Group) for El Cronista Comercial, Argentina’s financial newspaper of record, won three Golds in the categories of Low Budget Event, Educational/Training Event and for technical excellence in Effectiveness.
The film, shot at an airfield just outside Buenos Aires, is a filmed record of an aerobatic display designed along the graphics of the real-life financial indicators of the ups and downs of the stock market, so as to allow the ‘newbies’ present to understand the 2001 Argentine financial crisis, the Greek default and the bursting of the dotcom bubble.
“One smile is enough to change the world” – produced by Dinamo Istanbul (the Turkish branch of the Group) for EÇADEM, a non-governmental organization which provides assistance to disabled children – won a Gold in the category Use of Web and Social Media and a Silver in the category Non-profit/Social Service Event.

The film, whose aim was to change the way people view and interact with disabled children and young people and to promote the work of the Support Centre for Disabled Children (EÇADEM), was shot with hidden cameras, without professional actors, and with the collaboration of families of disabled children. The story revolves around a letter written by the mother of Tufan, the disabled protagonist of the spot, which she arranges to have handed to unsuspecting bystanders in a public park. “Please don’t look at my son with pity; all he needs is a smile from you to be happy.” The natural and spontaneous reactions are exceptionally touching, but also result in wonderful and generous smiles directed at Tufan.
The project led to over 31.8 million views on Facebook and 1.2 million shares. Furthermore, the number of EÇADEM volunteers rose by 400% and visits to their website increased by 2400%. All for an extraordinarily modest outlay, thanks also to the unpaid contribution of the Casta Diva Group team.

Judging the 276 entries submitted to EuBEA by 112 agencies from 22 countries, was a jury made up of representatives from businesses who invest in events, industry associations and the trade press, presided over by Gerd de Bruycker, Marketing Director Northern Europe and Head of Event Marketing EMEA at Cisco, flanked by vice-presidents Andrea Faflíková, CEEMEA PR & Event Manager of The LEGO Group and Luca Favetta, global event marketing expert.

Jurors evaluated the events based on the criteria of creativity, originality, execution and target engagement.
